If you are worried about not being a successful tour guide because you just don't have enough useful information on Illinois-have no fear!! After performing the tasks below, you will have no worries!
Task One-Timeline of Illinois
1. Click on the link to find a timeline of different time periods in Illinois
2. When you get to the website, visit each time period. Make sure to write important information you have found in your journal.
3. After visiting each time period, write a one-page journal entry on what time period would have been been most interesting to live in and why?
Task Two-State Fast Facts
1. Read the Fast Facts and Trivia page about Illinois facts. All these facts are important to the state of Illinois.
2. Write 5 facts that you believe are most interesting or most important in your journal.
3. Remember when picking these facts, try to think of the people in your tour guide! What will be something interesting you can tell them!
Task Three-Famous Historical Figure
1. Choose a famous person in Illinois history
2. Make a Poster including a timeline, facts, and pictures (Can be put into PowerPoint Presentation or iMovie)
3. Make a Fakebook page to go with research
4. Be prepared to give either the visually or oral presentation of what you learned
Task Four-Illinois Expert Quiz
1. Take the expert quiz (to be made at a later date)
2. Place answers in your Social Studies journal
3. Pair and Share with the rest of the class later
Task Five-Illinois Simulation Activity
1. Complete the Simulation PowerPoint
2. Take notes in your Social Studies Journal on things you learned
